In a future where we live increasingly in digital worlds, what still keeps us grounded?

Digital Nature is a Virtual Reality installation that explores what happens when our relationship to nature is mediated by technology. Using photogrammetry and other digitisation techniques on nature from the Utrecht region, I isolate fragments of something living and recreate them in Virtual Reality. At that exact moment they become uncoupled from soil, organisms, and climate.
