The Artists

Dewi Mac Donald

I’m a media artist exploring technical and social systems through kinetic sculptures, experimental machines, and installations combining hardware, software, light, and sound. Interaction is central to my practice; by coding, fabricating, and assembling electronics, I work to understand systems from the inside out and make them visible.

Transparency and translation guide my work. I expose mechanisms and use clear materials to invite viewers into the logic of each piece, reinterpreting ideas through mechanics, image, text, and sound. By revealing how technologies function or fail, I aim to demystify them and open space for new ways of understanding and imagining the systems that shape our daily lives.

Lucas Dekker

I’m an immersive media artist based in the Netherlands, working across VR, AR, film, photography, and 3D. I graduated from the University of the Arts Utrecht in Image and Media Technology as a multidisciplinary maker.

I approach my work in immersive media with theatrical and cinematic sensibility, using VR as a tool to question societal norms, values, and the ways we imagine the future. Fascinated by extreme thinking like futurism and utopia, I explores how visions of tomorrow reveal the assumptions and power structures of today.

Tijn Maria

I'm Tijn Maria (2002) based in Utrecht, the Netherlands.The distance that has been created between humans and nature inspires me to find the bridges where we connect.I find these connections in my research using human and nature’s patterns and processes - from the cellular to the cosmic. These patterns can be found physically, but also in behaviour, rituals, and recurring cycles.

By exploring the similarities and differences we share I gain a better understanding of what part I play in the whole, where I'm woven into, and what it all means. I create through these questions, and not to solve them - but to stay in dialogue with them.
My works can take different forms - in visual works as illustrations, animations and physical sculptures, to sound-based pieces, including songs.

I work hands-on with water, ink and the voice my grandmother gave me.

Sire Mane

My work comes from a need to understand, share, and connect. As an artist with roots in Senegal, I use my personal experiences as a starting point to explore themes such as mental health, identity, and cultural connection.

In my illustrations, collages, and VR experiences, I try to make that sensory richness tangible. I find combining the physical and digital worlds fascinating. I play with materials, sounds, and scents to make people not only look, but also truly feel.

My work is intended for those who recognize themselves in what I create, but just as much for people who are curious about a world that may not be familiar to them. I want to open up conversations about things that often remain unspoken, but in a light and playful way, without losing the depth.
